Jan Winn Jenkins is an artist with many passions. When she isn't painting she writes Romantic novels, essays, and poetry.
Jan has a great love of life and an unbelievable imagination that just doesn't quit. Her paintings will have you staring and take you to a place you may have seen or only imagined. Looking at the website will be like a walk into the past, future or present, or into another world. Jan has a way of capturing the perfect moment or creating the perfect site.
Your family and friends will be amazed at her paintings as you find yourself going into a visual story, a place where your imagination can run and play, or relax and remember.
You will know when you spot your favorite painting and exactly what wall to hang it on in your home. It will be a room you won't want to leave as you weave your own story around the painting.
Jan has three generations of artists in the family. Her oldest daughter, Kathy, also paints but will take you to completely different places by the story they tell. Her youngest daughter,
Christy, designs clothes and will soon set up her pottery studio in her home. Jan's oldest son, Clay, is fun loving and talented at bringing old furniture back to a new life. He is also talented at computer designs. Jan's youngest son, Jay, lives in Tucson, Arizona and is a well known metal sculptor. He also composes his own music and plays in restaurants where there is a grand piano, for the enjoyment of the guests. Two of her grandsons, Tye and Troy, write their own music and play guitars in their band.
Jan has been painting in oils since the 1960. Her purchased paintings grace libraries and many private homes throughout the United States. She and her husband, Tom live on a small horse farm in Indiana with two half Percheron horses, two dogs and many barn cats. She met a group of women writers in 1992 and named them, Sisters of the Round Table. At least once a year they meet for a weekend to critique novels and reunite.
Introduce yourself to Jan, and if your painting doesn't happen to be here, tell her a bit about yourself and she just might create it for you.
